Speak Into The Microphone

Congratulations! You may be the next contestant on that summer jam screen! Contrary to Mr. S-Dot Carter’s (Jay-Z) rebuttal from his notorious diss to rapper Nas on the Takeover, but, I mean it with embrace and reach out my hand to all those that are worthy of being transcribed from voice to permanent ink in the most humble and objective manner. So here is your time to shine! Become a star in the canvas of art!

Recently, I’ve come to do a lot of recording or spontaneous interviews with others worthy of being put on paper for my own personal writing goal of recent. I find it very interesting considering that I have never utilized sound recorders to transcribe conversations into ink or font. It is quite fun and entertaining in many ways, also very helpful towards the cause.

The art of transcribing is a useful tool to capture the entire moment once lived, and relive that specific event at the present time. Basically, you control the duration through pause, stop, play, fast forward and rewind. Time is in the palm of your hands! As if you are a god-like figure. Isn’t that awesome!

You can transmit those exact quotations verbatim to play with in however way that you want. Play the hand of god! Although you can’t control the outcome of discourse already played (pre-destiny), you can manipulate or embellish to your pleasantry (genesis). I’m not saying to exaggerate the entire moment; that would simply be unethical and defy the laws of objectivity as a writer. But, it would make a great addition to a future story.

Although it takes away the creativity within your own mind of developing fictional or non-fictional characters, it makes all writing facile, considering you have everything in real time at the palm of your hands. So with that being said, I co-sign this process of capturing real people on a miniature device. It equals authentic characters and scenarios for an authentic story to be told. Mic Check one two, one two.
